Stored away in the library at Vogue House, this archive forms a remarkable record of British fashion history. Now a new book, Unseen Vogue: The Secret History of Fashion Photography, reveals some of these forgotten images. Among the discoveries made while researching the book was this set of pictures, published here for the first time.
Taken in 1940 by Cecil Beaton, they give a fascinating insight into the fashion of the War years and a perfect snapshot of a lost moment in time
